Hello! I’m Rachel, your trusted realtor. I’m here to give you the scoop on all things Kansas City. Today, our focus is on the suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri.
Kansas City Suburbs at a Glance
Did you know? Kansas City is home to about 500,000 residents, with the remaining 2 million from the metropolitan area residing in the suburbs. So, which suburb is the best? Although I can’t pick just one, I’ll introduce you to five of my personal favorite Kansas City suburbs. For this article, we’ll zoom in on the star of the suburbs: Blue Springs, Missouri.
Location, Location, Location
Blue Springs boasts a super convenient location. Nestled right off I-70 on the east side of the metropolitan area, it’s great for commutes to downtown Kansas City. Many Blue Springs residents also commute to areas on the Kansas side like Overland Park and Johnson County. With major cross-sections like Seven Highway and I-70, Blue Springs is strategically placed. But a word of caution: Seven Highway, being a significant traffic vein, can sometimes be congested.
Convenience is Key
What’s a suburb without its conveniences? Blue Springs ticks all the boxes. From Target to Walmart, Home Depot to Kohl’s, it’s got everything you’d need. And the latest addition? A Whataburger! While Blue Springs offers all the conveniences, it might not be the trendiest place to live. If you’re after convenience and want quick trips to the grocery store, it’s perfect. However, if Michelin star restaurants are your thing, you might want to look elsewhere.
Affordability in Blue Springs
One of the primary reasons people gravitate towards the suburbs is affordability, and Blue Springs is no exception. Here, the average home sells for a price below the metro average, making it a viable option for many. While South Blue Springs has a rising number of new constructions (which can be a tad pricier), Central and North Blue Springs offer a significant bang for your buck.
School Districts Matter
For many suburbanites, the quality of school districts is paramount. While I’m not an education expert, according to niche.com, Blue Springs schools rank as the second-best district in the entire metro area. Both Blue Springs South and Blue Springs High have been recognized by U.S. World News for their exemplary performance. It’s worth noting that there’s a healthy rivalry between these schools, making the community lively and competitive.
In Conclusion: Why Blue Springs?
To sum it up, Blue Springs, Missouri stands out as a star among the suburbs. With its affordability, commendable school districts, and sheer convenience, it’s a community that offers a mix of urban amenities and a touch of small-town charm.
For those considering a move or wanting to learn more about Blue Springs, Missouri, or any part of the Kansas City metro area, I’m here to help.
